The company has passed through different stages before becoming prosperous. These stages could be summarized in three basic phases. The first one started with manufacturing two fundamental products, these are soap and bleaches. The second stage was manifested in producing clothes washing powders, and within the final and third stage the company has specialized in manufacturing washing powder for both automatic and regular washing machines.

1.The First Stage: Producing Soaps and Bleaches
This stage lasted between 1951 and 1974 when the concentration was on establishing the company and introducing two basic products, i.e. soaps and bleaches.

Although the company was at its initial stages, it used methods which hadn’t been used by the manufacturers of similar materials at that stage in that its products were distinguished by the nice scent and the efficiency which were lacked in other similar products.

2.The Second Stage: Producing Clothes Washing Powders
This stage started in 1974 and ended by 1983. The company moved in this stage from the phase of manufacturing soaps and bleaches to producing cleaning powders.

The company extended its factories in 1975 due to the increasing order on its products specially after widely and extensively using automatic washing machines.

3.The Third Stage:Specializing in Producing Washing Powders and Bleaches for both Automatic and Regular Washing Machines

The company has started the third stage in 1983 due to the increase of orders on washing powders for both automatic and regular washing machines. At the same time the company started expanding its work and marketing its products locally and internationally in addition to importing them to the former republics of the Soviet Union which are considered one of the best and most important markets for Al Afrah.

With the advent of the new investment law; the company focused on the importance of developing both machines and products aiming at enhancing the level of the work. Moreover, the company has contracts with international specialized consultants due to the increase in the workload and the appearance of new importing markets. The main goal of taking this step is improving the products quality and organizing the mechanism of work after expanding the company.
